Kennel Time
The summer of 2012, I spent working at a dog boarding kennel. It was such a wonderful opportunity to work with the dogs and their owners I learned so much about canine nutrition and medicine. I also got to be much more familiar with breeds I hadn't heard of before. Although I had to break up many fights and got bit a few times. I am so glad that I had that experience.
Dun Roamin Farm Fun
Freshmen year, one of my first friends was Mallory. She took me under her wing and introduced me to so much more of the horse world. I was visiting her farm all the time, learning about how a full lesson barn works. I also learned about other farm animals and what it takes to keep so much property functioning. Mallory and her family at Dun Roamin Farm helped me learn about marketing and animal care. I appreciate all they have done for me.
Belize Trip 2013
In the fall of 2012, I took a class in the Environmental Studies department called Belize: Rainforests, Reefs and Ruins. It was an amazing class that prepared us for our trip to Belize in January. We got to climb ruins, make medicine out of plants and snorkel the second largest coral reef in the world. The people I met there and the lessons that they gave me will stick with me for a lifetime.
